  • This series was import and memorable for many reasons. India broke the shackles by winning an ODI series on foreign soil by chasing a record target of 326 at Lord's. Mohd. Kaif and Yuvraj Singh amassed 121 for the 6th wicket partnership when India were down and out. Kaif was adjudged man of the match for his unbeaten 87 of 75 balls which was coupled with the famous bare-torso image of skipper Ganguly waving his India jersey high above his head from the balcony at Lords. Nasser Hussain, captain of England later recalls, "We had India 140-odd for five with Sehwag, Ganguly, Sachin, and Dravid all back in the hut! Kaif came out and as he walked past me I said: ‘Come on guys, they’ve sent the bus driver in, we’ve got a chance here!’. When he smashed the winning runs he walked past me and said: ‘Not bad for a bus driver’. It was a pretty good comeback!"  Source: www.thesportsrush.com
