On the Artist: Christina Pierce spent her childhood in Cornwall where her father coaches cricket. After a foundation course at Plymouth College of Art studying under Alexander Mckenzie, she graduated from Central School of Art London and has exhibited extensively in the UK and abroad including The Royal Academy in London, Lords Cricket Ground and the Brit Oval. Her artworks are owned by some well known international and county stars as well as corporate offices.
On the player: Brian Charles Lara (b. 1969) is a former Trinidadian international cricket player representing and later captianing the West Indies. He is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest cricketers of all-time. He topped the Test batting rankings on several occasions and holds several cricketing records including the record for the highest individual score in first-class cricket with 501 not out for Warwickshire in 1994. Lara also holds the record for the highest individual score in a Test innings after scoring 400 not out against England at Antigua in 2004. He is the only batsman to have ever scored a century, a double century, a triple century, a quadruple century and a quintuple century in first class cricket over the course of a senior career.
